Explore the 13th-century Augustinian priory, now a luxurious country home

We run garden tours throughout the year showing seasonal highlights.

Guided tours of the House run every Tuesday, 11.30am -2pm, until 21 July.

Tours are bookable when you arrive at reception.

Walks & trails

One moment to capture together

For a gentle stroll try the Winter Garden & Riverside walk (40 mins).

For longer walks there's the Woodland Path & Hoe Fen Trail (1hr 30) or take the longer Circular Walk (2hrs) - boots recommended.


Bee searching for pollen

Enjoy a walk through 114 acres of gardens as summer flowers attract wildlife throughout the Formal Gardens and wild flower meadows.

Sit down and relax and enjoy the sound of birdsong and insects.



The Wildlife Discovery Area is the perfect place for children to have fun in the great outdoors. Start your adventure at the Inspiration Station in reception.


Life 'below stairs'

Step back to the 1960's & experience 'life below stairs' in the Domestic Wing of the House.

Take a peak in the Kitchen, Butler's Pantry, Scullery, Brushing Room & the Servant's Hall.


Lots of gift and local produce for you to choose from

We sell a full range of locally produced items from tasty chutney to beautiful pottery, as well as many gift ideas, books & jewellery.

We also sell our own fresh flour, ground and bagged at Lode Mill
