See our beautiful gardens in a whole new light this winter, as they are lit up at night in magical and mysterious ways.

Enjoy an enthralling family adventure as Anglesey Abbey's gardens are transformed into a light-fantastic wonderland. For three weekends, the Winter Lights event will see the Winter Garden and Riverside paths of these famous gardens illuminated at night - highlighting the natural beauty, shape and texture of the trees and shrubs in a unique, colourful way. Music will drift through the trees, whilst entertainers will enthral visitors young and old alike.

New for 2013
This year we will also be lighting the gardens on Fridays, perfect for a post work, relaxing evening with friends. We will be lighting different elements and structures within the gardens: look out for highlights around the Mill and House, along with last year’s popular installations taking on a different light, especially our beloved Silver Birch Glade. Due to the popularity of last year’s event will we also be operating a timed ticket system, so please make sure you pre-book your ticket to ensure a place.

Local jazz band Hat Trick will again be performing their lively jazz music for all to enjoy.  Intriguing performers lit from head to toe in multi-coloured lights will be wandering around the gardens performing tricks and stunts.

Food and drink
If you're thinking of grabbing a bite to eat at Winter lights we have various options for you. Redwoods Restaurant will be open throughout the evening serving warming winter food and hot drinks.

Along the route, there will be a food area where you can choose one of our delicious local pork buns, plus vegetarian options, along with hot drinks and some seasonal mulled wine, all while watching the puppet theatre show. Further along, we will be roasting chestnuts for you to munch while listening to our jazz band.

Christmas Shopping
Our gift shop will be open selling a wide variety of gifts, perfect for Christmas presents, from scarves to picnic hampers, books to homeware make sure you also look out for Winter Lights themed gifts.  Our second-hand bookshop will also be open during all of the sessions.

The Nitty Gritty

If you are a keen photographer this is a great event to practise your skills at. We ask you to be considerate to other visitors about using tripods as they can cause a trip hazard, especially in dim areas. Stopping for long periods of time can also cause parts of the route to become blocked which will affect everyone’s enjoyment of the evening, so we may need to ask you to move on.

Winter Lights will run on Friday, Saturday & Sunday, 29 & 30 November, 1, 6, 7, 8,13, 14, 15 December, 5.30 - 7.30pm. Tickets cost £10.50 for adults, £7.50 for children (5-17 years), and £32 for a family ticket (2 adults and up to 3 children).
