PruHealth, one of the UK’s leading health insurers and wellness providers, is proud to partner with us for the third year running, and support the Great British Walk.

PruHealth encourages it’s members to get healthy every day through it’s wellness programme Vitality and walking is a great way to earn Vitality points and rewards.

Walking can help us all enjoy the incredible things the Great British Outdoors has to offer – from rugged coastal paths to open parklands to spotting wildlife in the woods. And importantly, walking also has proven short and long term benefits for our health.

You burn virtually the same number of calories whether you run or walk a mile; you just get there faster if you run.*

Walking can help decrease the risk of heart attack, decrease the risk of developing type 2 diabetes, and can even reduce the risk of bone fracture. Additionally, brisk walking can reduce stress and depression levels as well as improve cancer survival rates.*

To help us understand more about our health this year, PruHealth are helping walkers discover their ‘Vitality Age’ by answering a few simple health and lifestyle questions. Your Vitality Age may be higher or lower than your actual age but it’s a great way to understand our health in a simple way. Look out for the ‘What’s Your Vitality Age?’ booths at selected National Trust properties from 1 September to 3 November. Or you can use PruHealth’s facebook app at

Vitality can help you understand even more about your health through discounts on health screens, and offers all sorts of savings on ways to get healthy like gym memberships and sports shoes.
