Volunteer Laura Pilborough from Dudmaston

When we launched our major recruitment campaign in 2013, Laura realised we needed to stretch our reach as far as possible to encourage lots of new faces. She took the opportunity to write to the local press expressing how much she enjoyed her volunteering with us and encouraging others to get involved. This was Laura’s letter …

Dear Editor

If readers would like to try something new in 2013, can I recommend volunteering at a local National Trust property, Dudmaston Hall? I joined the Dudmaston team as a room guide and children’s activity helper two years ago, needing to fill the gap left after both my children moved away from home. I have experienced many benefits, namely meeting different people, making new friends, learning about Dudmaston’s fascinating history and feeling a valued member of a great team, all helping to bring the Dudmaston story alive for visitors. Moreover, I enjoy spending time in such a beautiful place!

Do give it a go! This is an exciting time to join the team as opening hours are being extended and more rooms will be on show in 2013. No prior knowledge is required as training is given.

To find out more, call Dudmaston on 01746 780866 or email.
