Running routes in the North East

If all you need is to be pointed in the right direction, these running routes are for you. Just download the directions, grab your trainers and head out into the great outdoors to enjoy fresh air and the wind in your face.

    Allen Banks

At just under 6K the Allan Banks route takes you through one of the largest ancient semi-natural woodlands in Northumberland. The woodland paths run alongside the river Allen taking. You'll pass the Tarn and old summer house, and there's lots of wildlife to spot too.

    Hadrian's Wall

This route incorporates views of some of the most scenic parts of Hadrian's Wall including Crag Lough, Sycamore Gap and Housesteads Roman Fort. It's classic trail running terrain and has been designed to avoid the busy main Wall footpath by trailing along lesser used paths instead.

    South Tyneside Coastal Trails

These South Tyneside coastal trails take in fantastic coastal views, sea stacks and wildlife along The Leas. There are three trails - a 3K, 5K and 10K route - perfect for training for the Great North Run. Especially because The Leas is where this famous race ends!
