Two of the 50 things to do before you're 11 3/4, No 27 - go star gazing and No 40 - go on a nature walk at night, are a little more difficult to do. To help we have a number of events taking place across the south west to make sure you can tick off your 50 things after dark.

Evening bat walk, Brownsea Island, Dorset
Sat 26 Jul, 6.30-9pm
Take a walk with a ranger to discover more about our nocturnal wildlife. Bring your own picnic or treat yourself to one of our hampers. Booking essential 01202 707744. £10.

Wild night at Pepperbox hill, Wiltshire

Join the ranger and local moth experts from Butterfly Conservation for this family moth trapping and glow worm event. Just drop in.

Sun and stars at Carnewas, Cornwall
Sat 2 Aug, 7-10pm
Spend the evening with our rangers and Kernow Astronomers for stargazing at this stunning cliff-top location, recently awarded Dark Skies status. As the sun sets slowly into the sea, we may see any sunspots and flares on its surface with a special solar scope.

Stargazing and storytelling, Stonehenge landscape, Wiltshire

Batty about bats, Penrose Estate, Cornwall

Bat night and BBQ, Polzeath, Cornwall
