Interested in making the most of the National Trust near you? Join your local group to enjoy special interest talks, visits, holidays and other social and fundraising events. You’ll also be helping a great cause – local groups support the work of the charity and raise hundreds of thousands of pounds every year for our conservation and access projects around the country.

The Orpington & Chislehurst Centre was founded in 1980 and currently has around 850 members. It is independent of the National Trust and governed by a constitution common to all the charity’s centres and associations. Our affairs are conducted by a committee of officers and members who are elected at our Annual General Meeting held in April each year.

Our objectives are to promote the National Trust locally, raise funds for its support, and arrange a programme of events and activities to enrich members’ understanding of its work.

In 2013 we had another successful year and donated a total of around £4,600 to various projects at Emmetts Garden and Reigate Hill where we funded a sheep corral to help care for the Welsh Black Mountain sheep we funded in 2010.
