Be part of our volunteer group and help out with outdoor activities

Thinking about volunteering and want to be a part of a group?

Our volunteer groups help our staff with hands-on involvement, organising conservation days and weekend events. Our activities vary and range from footpath and step construction to planting and coppicing.

The East Midlands National Trust Volunteers

We're a friendly and informal group who enjoy working together in the outdoors.

We have tasks on one or two Sundays a month for most of the year. Our tasks start at 10am and usually finish about 4pm, with regular breaks. We are out to enjoy ourselves and everyone works at their own pace.

You don't need any previous experience and you can come to as many or as few tasks as you wish - we don't ask for any commitment.

The properties we work with are:

Calke Abbey
Hardwick Hall
Belton House
Kedleston Hall
Clumber Park
Ilam Park
