If you are celebrating an upcoming event such as a wedding or birthday and rather than receiving gifts you would like your friends and family to make a donation to the National Trust, please do get in touch. Or you might be looking for a really special anniversary or present for a loved one.
There are several ways to do this:
Purchasing a Virtual Gift
Why not have a look at our range of Virtual Gifts; from saving the red squirrel, planting spring bulbs or a wildflower meadow, to helping keep the Lake District special. You’ll be sent a gift card that you can add your personal message to before giving to your friend or loved one.
Donating to a particular appeal, property or project
Whether you would like to help us with the upkeep of Tyntesfield, look after the Peak District, clean-up beaches along the 720 miles of coastline in our care, or fund painting conservation, there is sure to be a unique place or project that will suit your interests.
Or for your special occasion you would like to raise funds online, you can do so by creating a giving page on JustGiving. Family and friends can leave messages of good wishes and you can personalise the pages with photos. You could also set up a collection without using the internet, using our donation form.
For more information or to find a project please call 01793 817683 or email Caroline Bowyer.
Donating towards something specific
You might have in mind a donation towards something specific like footpath restoration, spring bulbs, a bee hive or an orchard. Something that your friend or loved one particularly enjoys? Perhaps they are a keen gardener, a fan of textiles or a great nature lover? Or what about a donation towards something more unusual: a bat detector, play equipment, costumes, a wildlife webcam, garden tools, virtual tours or a picnic table? Or perhaps a donation towards our Neptune Coastline Campaign if they spend many happy hours walking the coastline?
Do give us a call to discuss your ideas; please either contact the property directly or the national coordinator on 01793 817683 or email Caroline Bowyer.
In the past benches have been a very popular way of commemorating a loved one and unfortunately opportunities to donate towards new or replacement ones are very limited. If we cannot find you a spot for a bench we can provide you with alternative ideas.
Marking your donation
A Commemorative Book will record your dedication to your friend or loved one and include your personal message. A Commemorative Book is held at most of our properties, but might be at the nearest built property if a coast or countryside location.
We aim to keep the spirit and natural beauty of our countryside places and gardens and can no longer agree to plaques or inscriptions on countryside furniture, stiles etc. We hope you will understand our approach to help the natural environment stay as special and free from intrusion as possible.
Download our donation form
You can download our In Celebration Donation form to send in with your donation.
Please note that Gift Aid can only be claimed if the In Celebration donation is from an individual and not from a group donation (such as from a fundraising event or collection). For us to be able to claim gift aid, each individual donation would need to be accompanied by a separate gift aid declaration form.
These gifts make a real and lasting difference to some of our nation’s most beautiful landscapes and spectacular heritage. Without the support of donors like you the National Trust would not be able to do so much of our work, looking after some really breathtaking buildings, countryside and coastline. Your continued support enables us to care for them, for ever, for everyone. Thank you.
Please note that in contacting us we may record your personal information on the internal Fundraising Database. This is to be used only within the Trust for fundraising purposes. It will not be shared with any outside organisations and will not be used for any other purposes.
