Golden Cap Association (West Dorset) was founded in 1978 and has over 550 members. We take our name from the highest cliff on the South Coast of England – Golden Cap – which is part of the Jurassic Coast and of outstanding ecological and geological importance.

We support the work of the National Trust and offer activities such as:

  • talks
  • walks
  • coach visits
  • quizzes
  • lunches

to make National Trust membership even more enjoyable.

Membership is open to all National Trust members and accredited volunteers. We are independent of the National Trust but governed by a constitution common to all the charity's Centres and Associations. Our affairs are conducted by a committee elected at our Annual General Meeting held every March.

On Stonebarrow Hill there's a shop which is uniquely staffed purely by volunteers. It's open every day from Good Friday until the end of October.
