Together with the Mid Essex Guild of Weavers Spinners and Dyers, we've started work on a new project to make a traditional Cistercian monk's habit.

The finished article will be a replica of the habits that were worn by the monks at Coggeshall Abbey in the 13th century when the barn was built, using the same materials and techniques that would have been used then.

The habit will eventually go on display in the barn.
