South Bedfordshire Association
The South Bedfordshire Association is a voluntary association of National Trust members and volunteers, founded in 1981 to promote and prosper the work of the National Trust.
We currently have over 230 members from Dunstable, Luton, Leighton Buzzard and the surrounding villages.
The object of association is to promote the work of the National Trust by raising funds to help the Trust.
We have a programme of talks and visits to enhance the membership's understanding of the work of the National Trust and make membership of the Trust more enjoyable and enriching. We have at least one holiday a year and usually an event around Christmas time.
Members receive a newsletter four times a year to keep them informed of the activities of nearby Trust properties. We support our local property, the Chiltern Gateway Centre on Dunstable Downs, and the nearby Tree Cathedral at Whipsnade. Some of our members either work or volunteer at the local properties.
We meet at the Salvation Army Centre, Bull Pond Lane, Dunstable, LU6 3AH on Wednesday evenings during autumn and spring. During the winter months we meet on a Monday afternoon. At all our meetings we serve refreshments which are free and this enables our members to socialise with each other.
The best way to get the full value of the association is to become a member, which is open to National Trust members, staff and volunteers.
Membership is £10 per person.
