Why not join us on Hindhead Common to get hands on with nature

The South Downs NTV group was started in 1988 with the first work party held on the 12 June at Highdown Hill -near Worthing- clearing storm-damaged trees from the Great Storm of ’87.

The group has now grown in stature and carries out about 2,300 hours of conservation work on behalf of the National Trust each year with work parties usually organised on alternate Sundays (with the occasional Saturday) at a variety of National Trust owned sites and properties all across Sussex.

The tasks we undertake include: downland, heathland and woodland clearance, footpath maintenance and fencing.

The group also has an active social programme including; pub nights, occasional holidays and weekends away, walks, bowling, watching basketball etc.

Membership of the group is open to anyone over the age of 16, No special skills are required and all tools are provided.
