There are captivating views over the Salcombe estuary from Overbecks.

The South Hams covers the southern-most part of Devon, reaching almost to Plymouth in the west and Brixham in the east, and going as far north as the edge of Dartmoor.

The whole area is designated as an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty and enjoys some of the country's most beautiful and unspoilt stretches of coastline.

The National Trust has three places in the area: Overbeck's near Salcombe, Coleton Fishacre near Kingswear/Dartmouth, and Greenway overlooking the beautiful Dart River.

It also owns many acres of coastline, woodland and farmland, and is responsible for maintaining a balance between protecting the area and facilitating public access. The South West Coast Path runs through the area.
