Interested in making the most of the National Trust near you? Join your local group to enjoy special interest talks, visits, holidays and other social and fundraising events.
You'll also be helping a great cause - local groups support the work of the charity and raise hundreds of thousands of pounds every year for our conservation and access projects around the country.
About the group
Abertawe Centre (Swansea) was founded in 1973 and currently has a membership of about 300 in the local area. Members are from Swansea, Neath, Gower and surrounding districts.
Membership is open to all National Trust Members (including members of The National Trust for Scotland), Volunteers who work for National Trust and National Trust Staff members.
Monthly meetings occur during the Winter. Day excursions and mini-holidays are arranged during the summer. Luncheon meetings are held in the spring and before Christmas.
Our objectives are to promote the charitable purposes of the National Trust and to make membership more enjoyable, effective and relevant to local members.
Among the National Trust properties we support are Dinefwr Park and Castle, Aberdulais Falls, and Rhossili Visitor Centre. Members provide volunteer help at Pennard (Southgate) car park (which gives access to Three Cliffs Bay) and as stewards at Dinefwr Park & Castle.
