The Friends of Aberdulais Falls is a group of volunteers supporting Aberdulais Falls in all sorts of ways... and thoroughly enjoy themselves at the same time.

As a friend you can:

  • Participate in the regular social events on offer
  • Keep up to date with our quarterly magazine
  • Become more involved at the place or even participate in the Friends’ choir.

What we do

You'll see friends helping out in the tearoom, taking guided tours, stewarding, selling donated books, gardening, helping at events or in the visitor centre and the shop.

Behind the scenes activities include research, archaeological excavation, cataloguing and digitising of photographs and documents.

Since 1987, when the 'Friends' was formed, more than £165,000 has been raised. This money has been used to enhance facilities for visitors. The project to provide access to all parts of the property for visitors with special needs, including the installation of lifts and the provision of wheelchairs, was one of the most significant and rewarding.

More recently, we've purchased new furniture for the volunteer workroom and the tearoom, plus a secure shed for equipment. Funds have been used to repair a lift at the top of the site and to enable the renovation and update of the toilets next to the tearoom.
