We work closely both operationally and on influencing policy with VisitBritain and the different agencies responsible for tourism in England, Wales and Northern Ireland, as well as the regional and local tourism organisations.

Tourism is not just another economic revenue stream. We have called for the Tourism Strategy Review to champion a new approach to tourism, which better understands and promotes the ways in which tourism can contribute to wider government priorities.

This means going beyond viewing and supporting tourism simply as another economic sector, important though that is, and addressing climate change and supporting the regeneration of local economies. We would like to see greater recognition that the quality of the UK's natural and historic environment is central to a healthy tourism industry.
