A piece of music by the Portishead guitarist Adrian Utley, was inspired by a walk at Croft Castle in Herefordshire.

The Sonic Journey track created by Portishead guitarist Adrian Utley, was inspired as he walked through Croft Castle's beautiful landscape which is dominated by ancient trees including a 1,000 year old oak tree and an avenue of chestnut trees with links to the Spanish Armada.

The track can be downloaded, accompanied by a one-off hand-drawn route by Adrian Utley and a must see Sonic Journey video. To get the full experience, why not visit Croft Castle and listen to the new track on an MP3 player, whilst wandering down the inspired journey through the seasons.

Brian Muelaner, our Ancient Tree Adviser said:

'Trees have inspired generations of artists and there is something remarkable about the power and beauty of ancient trees.

Walking is the perfect way to get outdoors and explore the exquisite British countryside, particularly at this time of year with trees in wonderful colours of autumn.

Adrian's music really captures the spirit of this special place on the journey through this landscape dominated by ancient trees'.
