Tuck in to this tasty tea time treat

Ingredients

Pastry base

  • 225g (8oz) plain flour
  • 85g (3oz) ground almond
  • 43g (1.5oz) icing sugar
  • 150g (5.25oz) butter
  • 60ml (2floz) almond essence

Filling

  • 170g (6oz) mincemeat

Topping

  • 225g (8oz) self raising flour
  • 115g (4oz) butter
  • 57g (2oz) sugar
  • 28g (1oz) mixed spice

Method

  1. Put all the pastry ingredients in to a bowl and mix to a breadcrumb add water and make to a pastry.
  2. Roll the pastry out into an oval tin and add the mincemeat spread equally over.
  3. Make the crumble topping by putting all the ingredients into a bowl and mix to a fine breadcrumb, then sprinkle over the top of the mincemeat.
  4. Cook in the oven on 160C for 35 mins.
  5. Leave to cool and then slice.
