Family bike rides
Choose one of our family oriented bike rides for an exhilarating day out.
What could be better than setting off to explore the countryside on two wheels? Our estates are perfect for little legs (and older ones too) to pedal around. Download route maps or collect a leaflet when you're on site.
The routes in this section tend to be shorter and across easier terrain. Look through our longer or more challenging rides to find routes up to 20 miles long, and off-road trails for mountain biking.
Don't forget to tick off number 11 of our 50 things to do before you're 11¾.
Blickling Estate has a network of cycle paths around a 1 mile long lake. A range of bicycles, tandems, child seats and trailer bikes can be hired during peak times. Pick up a cycle route leaflet at the visitor reception.
Box Hill's woodlands and chalk downs are a popular destination for a family bike ride. The bridleway along the side of the hill is less steep than the road. At the crest of the hill you will be rewarded with spectacular views, and the sight of the National Trust café where you can refuel for the return journey.
Plymbridge Woods - 10 miles. For families with older children, follow the old railway track from Plymbridge Woods. Download the route.
Erddig - The best way to see Erddig's parkland, woodland and rolling farmland is to hire some of our bicycles and collect a leaflet outlining our three cycle trails. Why not finish with some refreshments in the restaurant?
