There are designated accessible spaces for vehicles in the car park. Ramp available to access the house. Wheelchairs available for the house and gardens on a first-come, first-served basis. Grounds - partly accessible, slopes, some steps, terraces. Accessible route. There are a few steep slopes in the gardens, however many of the paths are level and provide stunning views over the Aylesbury Vale.

Half-timbered house originating from 1606, transformed by the Rothschilds in the late 19th century. Your self-guided tour leads through five ground-floor rooms where you can find our knowledgeable House volunteers to answer your questions and point out some of the House’s more hidden features. Filled with the renowned Ascott Collection, they feature everything from 17th-century paintings and 18th-century furniture, to rare Chinese ceramics.
Mellow, modern spaces sit amid grand designs. In the contemporary Lynn Garden, landscaped circles meet moated islands and infinity pools. Find a peaceful seat among the flowers and enjoy the moving water and busy bees in the planted beds. You can stroll along the 100-yard Madeira Walk beside borders of delphiniums and old roses – a riot of mauve, lilac and blue – or explore the leafy fern garden and the fragrant Scented Walk.
No visit to Ascott is complete without a stop at our Pavilion Tea Room. We offer a variety of hot and cold drinks, including freshly brewed coffees, a wide selection of teas, indulgent hot chocolate, milkshakes and smoothies. Feeling peckish? Treat yourself to hot pastries such as freshly baked sausage rolls and vegetarian bakes, crisps, or pre packed sandwiches - perfect for a light snack or lunch on the go.
Browse a carefully selected range of gifts, books, local produce and Ascott-branded souvenirs, including pin badges, mugs and other keepsakes. Younger visitors can also enjoy children's items and pocket-money treats. Opposite the Pavilion there is a Book Nook where you can browse, shop and donate pre-loved books. For garden enthusiasts, we offer a selection of plants grown and nurtured in-house by our expert gardening team.
