Indulge in an afternoon tea
A taste of Italy
Our menu's Italian twist was inspired by the life of Teresa Hulton, the 8th Lady Berwick. Born in Italy, Teresa spent many years in Venice before her marriage there to Thomas, 8th Lord Berwick, in 1919. With fresh savoury salad, a spin on classic tiramisu and butter biscuits, there are plenty of ways to have a taste of Italy next time you visit. Why not try our new light luncheon platter for a fresh Italian taste; a simple salad inspired by the colours of the Italian flag, made of sliced fresh mozzarella, tomatoes and basil.
Tea and tradition
The 8th Lady Berwick, Teresa, loved to serve her guests tea in the 1920s and 30s. We continue this tradition in the elegant setting of the Outer Library, where you can relax and admire the view across the lawn. Booking is not essential, but if you would like to book for a special occasion please call us on 01743 708191. Please note that access to the Outer Library is up a short set of steps, and as it is within our grounds normal admission charges apply.
