Get involved at Avebury

From room guiding to gardening, we're always looking for people to join our friendly team of volunteers.

In particular we are looking for room guides who can help us when the Manor opens in February.

Take home something beautiful

An unusual gift from Avebury’s shop

Look out for seasonal bargains in our January sale in our shop in the Old Farmyard.

Choose from an unusual range of gifts, including books and sculpture inspired by Avebury.

Come on a frosty walk with us

Guided tours of the stone circle are available nearly every day.  Just ask at the museum for tour times.

Want to go on your own long adventure?  Download our walk and explore our ancient landscape.

Plan your visit to Avebury

Thinking of visiting and want all the information available at your fingertips? Find it all in our general guide to Avebury with a handy map.

There's lots to do even in winter

  • Learn more about the history of the area in our museum
  • Take a tour of the stone circle with one of our volunteer guides
  • Our museum, cafe and shop are open every day throughout the winter
  • Take photos of the stones in the winter light
  • See if you can spot the large dial of the 18th-century turret clock

Warm up at the Circles Café

Hot chocolate is just the thing after a frosty walk

Hot soup, warming stews and sticky gingerbread await you after a bracing walk in the stones.

Come down to Circles in the Old Farmyard and treat yourself.
