What happened to the books in the Long Gallery during the flood in 2002? How are objects protected from light damage in a south facing room?
Led by the house team, this tour will give you a unique insight in to how the house is maintained and protected while ensuring it is looking its best for visitors. It will include the Great Hall, the West Turret Bedroom, the South Drawing Room and the Long Gallery as well as many other areas of interest, and identify specific conservation projects.

This tour combines the history of the house and its collection, alongside snippets of gossip on the people who lived here. Led by volunteers, it will take you through some of the most beautiful parts of the house, giving you an exclusive opportunity to look around the house before it opens its doors to visitors.
