Stay in the glorious Brecon Beacons
You'll be staying in the spacious and newly renovated Dan y Gyrn bunkhouse. We're proud to be the most centrally located bunkhouse in the Brecon Beacons in terms of our proximity to Corn Du and Pen y Fan.
Dan y Gyrn is located on Blaenglyn Farm which is a 17th-century Grade II listed working farm. Nestled in the verdant Upper Tarell Valley, just six miles south-west of Brecon, you really don't get better than this.
Protect our special places
It's one of our chief philosophies that special places are forever and for everyone. You could be part of protecting and saving special places for future generations just by joining one of our holidays.
Make a difference
Here at the National Trust this is what we're all about. We love championing practical hands-on conservation as that's what really makes a difference to the special places that we look after.
Build lasting friendships
Living and working together for a week you'll get the chance to build great friendships based on mutual experiences and interests. Our teams often have a great sense of team spirit and you can pick the brains of our expert staff who'll guide you every step of the way.
What's on offer at the moment?
One variety holiday in spring and one in the autumn
Aptly named, the variety holidays are perfect for anyone wanting to get a real flavour of beautiful mid and south-east Wales.
These holidays help us to catch up on some much-needed estate maintenance work, including invasive species management.
We also offer the chance to have a go at more vigorous nature conservation work like scrub removal and burning brash.
Two Brecon Beacons holidays in the summer
There'll be lots of walking and hard graft but you'll be rewarded with the most fantastic views on the summit of the Beacons. You'll be helping to build and maintain footpaths in the Brecon Beacons using the ancient Roman technique of stone-pitching.
You'll be taught this fantastic skill by our Lead Ranger, Rob Reith whose 27 years of experience make him the perfect guide.
