Outdoor centre campsite and south shore lodge
Brownsea Island outdoor centre is located around the site where Lord Baden-Powell held his original camp in 1907. Visit for the day or stay with us on our campsite or in south shore lodge. The trading post at the outdoor centre is open every day during the season where you can buy a memento of your visit including badges, neckerchiefs and woggles.

Open to all youth, community, special interest, corporate groups and schools, the campsite, with its views of the Purbecks, incorporates the very site that Lord Baden-Powell held his first experimental camp in 1907. Groups continue to journey from around the world to enjoy this unique site.
Bring your family to one of our four organised one-night family camps with activities and catering available. Or, you and your family could hire a pitch during set times with the option of hiring tents, including one of our traditional bell tents.
The site is open from Easter to September. Facilities include equipment hire, toilets, showers and beach access. Disabled facilites are also available. Email us
South shore lodge
South shore lodge is a Victorian cottage providing hostel style accommodation. It is located on the south coast of the island,with its own garden, beach access and fantastic views of the Purbecks.
It is open all year for group hire including youth, community, special interest, corporate groups and schools. The lodge has 5 bedrooms and sleeps up to 24 people in bunk beds.
