You can spot these beautiful dragonflies by the pools in summer

This course is an introduction to dragonflies, over three sessions find out more about them and the species that can be found on the Long Mynd. This course is run by Shropshire Country Recorder Sue McLamb.

  • £10 per session, the sessions run between June and August
  • Each day runs from 10am - 2pm and includes a classroom session and an outdoors session.

Join us on Saturday 5 September at 8pm for another fascinating talk by Dr. Alan Longstaff .This time the focus is on 'The Big Bang'. How good is the evidence for the Big Bang? What kind of universe do we live in? What was the Big Bang? The evening will include observing (weather permitting)

When the heather in flower the view is stunning from the top of the hill

On Friday 4 September join us for a walk on Long Mynd, see the heather in flower and enjoy the views.

Find out about the management of the hill and how the heathland has recovered over the past 50 years.

The Lone Pine Club is coming to Carding Mill Valley this summer

Join us this summer for a very special play performed by Pentabus Theatre Company. 

David, Dickie and Mary are starting a journey they will never forget. With their new friend called Peter (a girl) they go off on their own and make a secret camp, they start The Lone Pine Club 

What begins as a game becomes a true test of courage and loyalty as they find themselves tumbling into all sorts of scrapes and adventures.

 Are you a brave adventurer worthy of joining the Lone Pine Club?

The play is going to be performed in a tent located in the top car park, seating will be provided.

Performance dates are as follows...

Saturday 18 July at 3pm
Sunday 19 July at 3pm
Wednesday 22 July at 3pm
Thursday 23 July at 3pm
Friday 24 July at 3pm
Saturday 25 July at 12pm and 3pm
Sunday 26 July at 3pm
