Open Day - Fishery Cottage Restoration Project
We are delighted to announce that the Carrick-a-Rede Salmon Fishery Cottage restoration project began at the end of April 2011. Our wardens started to re-build a retaining wall and to move an earlier landslide behind it. Once this stage is finished contractors will move in to refurbish the boom, winch, anchors and the cottage itself. But we still need more help…
For this reason we will be holding an open day for all those interested in helping us with the project. If you are handy with a shovel or paint brush, are interested in local history gathering, can build boats, have ideas on how to interpret the fishery or if you simply want to be part of this exciting project, please come on Saturday 14 May at 2.30pm to Carrick-a-Rede.
