Bring your bike and cycle the three trails we have for cyclists

We have just opened a 21 mile (34km) network of new multi-use trails.
Put on your walking boots, bring your bike and enjoy some of the five trails available. These include an all ability trail, horse riding trail and walking and cycling trails taking you through some undiscovered parts of the demesne.

If you’re stuck for something to do this weekend, why not bring the children to Castle Ward? Our woodland playground and adventure playground is sure to tire them out and provide a fun day for all the family.

Enjoy breathtaking views of Temple Water

Castle Ward trails provide some of the most magnificent views of the estate and the surrounding area. Temple Water is especially nice for a Sunday stroll with views of the water that will take your breathe away.

International Bread Festival

Welcome to Northern Ireland's first International Bread Festival. Meet Tom and Henry Herbert - The Fabulous Baker Brothers - and join us in celebrating our diversity of local breads and foods from around the world.

An evening of Creole music

Evan Christopher, possibly the world’s finest clarinettist, will perform at Castle Ward on 3 June. His immaculate taste has strong roots in New Orleans jazz as he delivers the sound of European Gypsy swing.

Jubilee celebrations at Bread Festival

Castle Ward will be one of 60 locations in Northern Ireland to light a beacon on 4 June to celebrate the Queen's Diamond Jubilee. The beacon lighting will be the finale to the fun packed International Bread Festival.

The Mournes from Murlough dunes

Make the most of your stay at Castle Ward and visit Murlough National Nature Reserve situated less than 20 miles away. This beautiful dune landscape is fringed by one of Northern Ireland's most popular sandy beaches. With unrivalled views of the Mountains of Mourne and a network of paths and boardwalks to explore it is an excellent area for walking. This fragile 6000 year old sand dune system also makes it a haven for an array of butterflies and wildflowers.
