A shared vision

You can help out in the house or garden

You can help out in the house or garden

Over 150 volunteers help us to care for Chastleton in many different roles.

Room guides are vital in showing the property to our visitors and bringing it to life with their stories of the family who lived here.  Specialist conservation volunteers help with cleaning precious pewter plates and books.

In the garden, volunteers help our gardener, sharing its magic with our visitors through regular guided tours. Our garden volunteering team work hard to make sure that the topiary is tip top and the kitchen garden is productive.

If you think you have the skills and enthusiasm to join our dedicated team, whatever your talents and interests, there is sure to be a role for you.

To find out more about volunteering with us, please contact Georgina Halling on 01608 674 981 or email us for more details.

Chastleton House, the 'cradle of croquet'

Chastleton House is known as the 'cradle of croquet' - the rules were codified on the lawns here in the 1860s. Would you like to share this quintessentially English game with our visitors during the summer months?
