An afternoon in the life of a room guide

Saturday 26 April, 2-4pm

If you are thinking about volunteering in the house, why not come along to our open afternoon? You can meet the team, have a look around the house and ask some room guides all about their experiences. The house team will also be on hand to talk to, and to top it off, you can enjoy a free cup of tea or coffee in the Café.

Entrance is free to the open afternoon; just sign in when you arrive at visitor reception.

Our volunteers say...

Would you like to be a volunteer garden guide? This interesting volunteer role leads the free garden tour for visitors; a fantastic way to find out more about the gorgeous gardens, meet interesting people and much more. But why not find out about it straight from the horses' mouth - volunteer garden guide Viv tells us about her experiences in this video.

Social calendar

We value the hard work of our volunteers, so make sure that there's always something exciting coming up in your diary as a thank you. From BBQs to theatre trips, there's plenty to keep volunteers busy.

Coffee and conversation

Once a month we have a special coffee and conversation event for volunteers in Café Coleton, where volunteers can chat, followed by an interesting talk.

Subjects range from local history talks, to insights into different aspects of the work of the National Trust, such as 'A day in the life of a ranger.' There's always something new to discover.
