Anyone for tea?

We specialise in homemade scones, perfect for an afternoon cream tea. If jam and cream don't entice you, try our cheese tea: scones with Cornish cheddar, brie, butter, homemade red onion marmalade and a pot of house tea.

The Edgcumbe on the quay

Come to The Edgcumbe for light lunches, morning coffee or afternoon tea

The Edgcumbe is a former Victorian pub overlooking the river Tamar. You'll find it an idyllic spot for a light lunch, afternoon tea or a glass of lager. Hole up amongst the roses in our secluded garden, settle by the fire in our cosy tea-rooms or take over the large Long Room upstairs with views of the river and quay.

We're open from early January - 31 December. Dogs are welcome in our garden too.

Why not begin, or round off, your visit with a stop in our 15th-century Barn Restaurant? Made of slate stone and granite with a slate roof and rustic wooden beams, these days you can admire the old charm while you dine in modern comfort. We offer homemade soup and hot entrees, homemade cakes, wine and a selection of Cornish ale and lager. We have a children's menu too.

Harvest Tea painting

We love Mary Martin's three paintings that hang in our Barn Restaurant. This one shows her sister dressed in historic clothes on a fine, sunny day drinking tea amidst the ripening corn with the Calstock viaduct in the background.
