Baking demonstrations

Baking demonstrations

Explore the House with your group when it’s closed to other visitors. Suitable for KS1/KS2/KS3 – guided.

Suggested themes/areas of focus include; life in Victorian times - rich and poor; Lord Armstrong local hero; electricity and innovation; and changes over time.  We can tailor a theme to your needs and/or key stage.  Max 80 pupils, £2 per child.
 

Victorian life

Make butter the Victorian way...

A brief tour of House and three practical workshops. Make butter, dress as an upper-class Victorian adult, explore leisure activities and play with Victorian toys. Suitable for KS2 – guided.
Max 35 pupils, £4 per child.

 

Changes over time

A wonderful place for a picnic

A short tour of House with three handling sessions exploring Victorian artefacts and modern equivalents.  Suitable for KS1 – guided. Max 60 pupils, £4 per child.
 

Water works

Water fun at Cragside

A combined tour of the House with practical water based activity sessions exploring Lord Armstrong’s use of water in the afternoon. Suitable for KS2 – guided. Max 30 pupils, £4 per child.
