Ask yourself:

Would you love to tell the tales of a medieval dungeon?

Or how about showing off a garderobe intact in all its original glory?

Do you know someone who’d love to volunteer in a castle on a Saturday but has never found the right place?

And how many of us have driven past Dalton Castle thinking ‘What is that amazing building?'

Have you ever seen the castle and wondered

Have you ever seen the castle and wondered

We need you

Dalton Castle is right at the heart of Dalton in Furness. The sturdy 14th-century tower with its striking architectural features has seen dramatic times, serving over time as a medieval courthouse, a focus for Royalist support during the civil war and a Masonic Temple. We’re looking for enthusiastic volunteers who’d enjoy helping out on Saturdays during the open season. We’d love you to join us to bring this unique monument to life for our visitors. We have an exciting summer ahead with a lovely events programme which we also need help with. If you’re interested yourself, or if you know someone in the Dalton area who might like to be involved, please get in touch with Matthew Brown by telephone 015395 69816 or email: matthew.brown@nationaltrust.org.uk
