Eating & shopping
Eat your fill in the Billiard Room
Originally the billiard room and smoking room, this building was added to the house in the late 1890s. The hangings on the walls were specially made for the tearoom, they illustrate trees found in the park. See if you can spot them on your walks.
The window seats are ideal for viewing the White Park cattle which spend most of the summer in the inner park.
Gifts galore at brand new shop
Browse in our new retail and farm shop where locally produced produce and crafts mingle with a wide range of carefully sourced gifts and souvenirs. We have relocated to the inner courtyard of Newton House and for the first time ever we are now selling our award winning Dinefwr venison as well as a garden and allotment range. There is a range of books covering history, cookery and wildlife. There's also a brand new range of jewellery, blankets and our quirky home wear.
Finding it hard to choose? Our friendly staff are here to help.
Award winning produce
We're proud to say that our venison is a winner of the prestigious National Trust Fine Farm Produce award.
Our fallow deer can be traced back to the year 1660. They graze on the fallen leaves of veteran oaks and on an ancient woodland pasture that hasn't been altered by man for centuries. Dinefwr is the only parkland National Nature Reserve in Wales too - can you think of a better place to get your venison?
Our venison is on sale at our farm shop in Newton House. We also have a good working relationship with local suppliers cnwd and Cwmcerrig Farm Shop and Grill. Our venison is even available in Fortnum and Mason in London and intermittently in our very own tearoom.
Our second-hand bookshop is full of treasure. Pick up a bargain book or a long-forgotten video.
