At Dolaucothi we have a large network of walking, cycling and horse-riding trails that showcase breathtaking views, extensive history and some great examples of British wildlife.

New to Dolaucothi this year are audio trails, which help you discover the amazing story of the Romans in Carmarthenshire.

Parkland trail

Take a stroll around our beautiful parkland at Dolaucothi. There are some lovely spots to stop for a picnic and, in the springtime, the woodland is carpeted in bluebells.

Easy: 3.2km

Woodland trail

This trail is perfect for those wanting a moderately challenging walk in a beautiful woodland environment. Look out for woodpeckers, badgers and more.

Moderate: 4.7km

Estate trail

This walk takes you to the highest point of the estate where you can enjoy some spectacular views of Carmarthenshire. You may even see red squirrels and pine martens on your journey.

Strenuous: 7.1km

Miner's way trail

Dolaucothi has been exploited for its gold since Roman times. Walk in the footsteps of the men who shaped this landscape.

Moderate: 1.6km

The Cothi trail

For walkers, cyclists and horse riders out to enjoy the beauty of the Cothi valley. Take in some breathtaking views and trek through beautiful forestry.
