During her placement Bethany will have to go through the whole collection

Bethany Phelps has recently joined the team at Dudmaston Hall as Care of Collections Management Trainee, funded by the Heritage Lottery Fund.

While she's here, Bethany will be helping to check the inventory for all the items at Dudmaston Hall, this is no small task as there are over 4,500 items in the collection.

Bethany says: 'This role at Dudmaston will give me the experience and the hands-on training I require to begin a career in this sector. I find learning the skills needed to assist with heritage conservation very rewarding, and relish any chance to develop these. Other skills such as visitor engagement, research, conservation ethics and documentation are also key to my development, and tasks which I enjoy doing.'

During the season Bethany will be doing much of her work in the house in front of visitors, so this is a great opportunity to see more of our collection. You can also visit the National Trust Collections website to find out more about our collection.
