Late 17th-century mansion surrounded by a lakeside garden and estate
Dudmaston offers something unexpected in the Shropshire countryside, a house that provides a classical setting for a collection of modern and contemporary art. The modern art galleries were assembled by diplomat Sir George Labouchere, while his wife Rachel showed off her collections of botanical drawings and watercolours.
Outside, the established gardens are a stunning backdrop to art sculptures. The Big Pool is the perfect setting for a light walk with stunning views of the house. The new play area and the Orchard are the perfect places to let the kids loose to enjoy themselves.
The wider estate offers miles of walking routes that can be enjoyed year-round from the new car parks at Hampton Loade and the Holt.

The holiday cottages provide a great opportunity to stay on the estate

Our holiday cottages are scattered across the vast estate at Dudmaston and they provide the perfect opportunity to get away from the hustle and bustle of everyday life. You can stay as secluded as you like or if you want to get out and about there is plenty to do your doorstep.
Whether you are looking for somewhere to stay with the family or with a large group of friends, we can cater to your needs.
Our new cottage, Mose Cottage, is a three bedroomed cottage which can sleep up to 10 and it's attached to the Big Mose Basecamp which can sleep up to 20 people. The cottage and the Basecamp are adjoining so you could even hire both if you needed more space.
Mose Cottage is ideal for a family break or for a couple of families going away together, there is a spacious lounge and kitchen-diner and outside it has a private garden.
The Basecamp is a converted farmhouse and it is laid out in a hostel style, with excellent self catering facilities, it also has a private garden with a barbeque.
These facilities are also available for school parties and groups.
