The history of Dyffryn estate

The Dyffryn estate can be traced from the 7th century right up to today. Although there are currently some gaps in our knowledge, we do have a good overview on the history of the house and its land.

Reginald Cory commissioned and attended plant hunting expeditions all over the world, which makes Dyffryn’s collection both unique and incredibly important horticulturally.

A lot of the large homes in Wales in the late 19th century were built on money made from the industrial revolution.

Dyffryn was built to the grand scale it was on wealth made from the coal industry.
