How we got involved at Dyffryn
We saw a poster displayed in the visitor centre and attended an open day for volunteers. We were inspired by the plans for Dyffryn, both the house and the gardens, and decided that we had found something we can both do and enjoy.

What we get up to
Tasks vary from week to week, season to season. We plant, weed, trim, prune, mulch and do lots of clearing up. We volunteer for one day a week. Our day starts at 10.30am and ends between 3.45 and 4pm with a break between 1 and 1.30pm.

What we love about it
In short – everything. The work is very satisfying, not too onerous and there is no pressure to do more than you are capable of. We work in all areas of the gardens which is fascinating. We work with some really nice people, both staff and volunteers, so there’s always lots of chat and laughter, and light refreshments are provided!

We really look forward to our days at Dyffryn.
