Lower Failand Organic Farm is a National Trust tenant farm. It's been farmed by the Amos family for the last 18 years and is licensed by the Soil Association. They supply beef from Polled South Devon and Red Poll cattle, lamb from Polled Dorset sheep and eggs from Black Rock hens.
All the animals are reared organically using only natural methods of husbandry, without the use of growth promoters, sprays or chemical fertilisers. The meat is sold directly from the farm to the customer. Prices are those of conventional meats and eggs. The Amos family believe that organically produced food should be available to all.
Leigh Court Farm
Leigh Court Farm on the outskirts of Bristol grows 4.5 hectares of organic vegetables in one of our fields at Failand.
The farm is employee owned, so all of the permanent staff have shares in the enterprise. They have been gradually expanding , and providing fresh produce to customers, since 1999.
Production is spread out over four fields. The varied soil types and microclimates available on these different sites enables the farmers to grow a wide range of crops. All of their fields are within five miles of Bristol.
