Join a parkrun or junior parkrun

Families that run together have fun together. At least that’s the idea behind parkrun, a free weekly run for adults and juniors.

With the focus firmly on having fun and supporting each other, it’s a great way stay healthy, discover some of the nation’s favourite places, and make a real contribution to their conservation. Now with the addition of junior parkrun at Tredegar in South Wales and Wimpole in Cambridgeshire, it’s a chance for the whole family to get outdoors and have fun together.

Going the distance

All parkruns are set at a distance of 5km for adults. For kids, junior parkruns are a set distance of 2km. So even if you’ve never jogged before and don’t consider yourself a sporty person, you’ll find it a manageable distance. All you need to do is register for your parkrun event before turning up on the day on the official parkrun UK website - see below.

Timed to perfection

Each parkrun is timed. So if you decide to take part regularly, you can track your improvements in speed and fitness. There’s no better encouragement than finishing a parkrun and seeing that your time is quicker today than it was last week.

Location, location, location

Of the many parkruns that are held nationally, we host 24 at some of the country’s favourite places:
