Orienteering is a fun way to see our site
If you enjoy being in the great outdoors, why not improve your navigation skills by following one of our orienteering courses at Alderley Edge.
Orienteering involves using a specifically drawn map that enables you to navigate your way around a course with designated control points.
On the route there are markers in the places that correspond to the points on the map. Your aim is to complete the course by marking your control card at each control point with a unique code.
There are three courses which take in a number of the key features of the site. The terrain can be uneven and sometimes muddy, so please wear suitable footwear.
This is an activity which can be enjoyed by all, including families or individuals. The courses have been planned to appeal to all skill levels, so please feel free to take it at your own pace.
Schools and groups are very welcome but should telephone well beforehand as parking for coaches would need to be arranged in advance.
Orienteering maps are available from the National Trust Cheshire & Wirral Countryside Office, near the National Trust Car Park off Macclesfield Road.
