For Ever, For Everyone

Protecting the places we love

The National Trust exists to look after special places for ever and for everyone. This responsibility requires us to make long-term decisions that will conserve our heritage and protect it for future generations.

That’s why we are aiming to significantly reduce our reliance on fossil fuels and to rapidly increase our usage of renewable energies.

We have set a pressing target to cut our fossil fuel usage by 50 per cent by 2020.

Renewable energy generation has been part of some of our properties for a surprisingly long time...but we now need your help to restore these ground-breaking projects.

Facts about the appeal

  • The income we receive from visitors’ fees at our properties and membership is absolutely crucial, but this only covers a third of our costs.
  • The ‘For ever, for everyone appeal' was launched in 2006 to help meet this shortfall – to raise vital extra funds to help with the conservation and ongoing maintenance of the special places in our care.
  • As a charity, we are extremely grateful to supporters like you – who care passionately about protecting our heritage – and generously donate these vital extra funds. With your help today the unique places under the care of National Trust will always be protected for ever, for everyone to enjoy.
