100 days on for the Snowdonia Appeal

Latest update 12.07.2011 09:38

Today only 100 days since international actor Matthew Rhys launched a £1million appeal to to secure the future of Llyndy Isaf in Snowdonia, we can announce that over £750,000 has been raised.

However, we do still need to raise £250,000 to meet our target. You can help be part of our effort - donate now.

'We are absolutely delighted with the response we’ve had from the public.' said Richard Neale, General Manager in Snowdonia. 'However, we can only buy and protect Llyndy Isaf if we reach our £1million target, so I’m appealing to anyone who loves this part of Snowdonia to help us raise the final quarter.'

Today Matthew Rhys expressed his joy that three quarters of the money has already been raised. He thanked people for giving and appealed to those who haven’t yet donated to do so before it’s too late.

'Thank you so much to all of you who have already donated your money to help us save Llyndy Isaf. People from far and wide have been very generous, but, we're not there yet and the clock is ticking. The farmer has given us until the end of the year and if we don't raise one million pounds by then the farm will be sold on the open market. So, if you, like me, love Snowdonia and want to help look after this one special corner please donate to the Snowdonia Appeal, we really need your help.'

The campaign to buy Llyndy Isaf, a 600 acre (248ha) upland farm on the shores of Llyn Dinas lake in Snowdonia, is the National Trust’s largest countryside appeal in the UK in over a decade.
