We have a lovely, traditional countryside bar with a roaring log fire and relaxed atmosphere.

Choose from our ever changing range of local, hand pulled ales, our great selection of speciality bottled beers, wines by the glass, and even gin crafted right here in the Lake District.

Our aim is to offer a tempting tipple for every taste.

Have fun with your family, whatever the weather

Believe it or not, Langdale is not all about scrambling up ghylls and romping through the countryside, we all need to relax and reflect from time to time.

So why not find yourself a comfy corner by the crackling fire or a sunny spot on our terrace and take the time to relax while you soak up the views?

Our mission

Made from stone, slate and timber from the valley, it has served the needs of the generations who farmed this rugged landscape. Today we continue this tradition and welcome everyone looking for adventure and refreshment here.

We will source all we can from the valley; meat and water from the fells, wood fuel from our land and electricity from the torrents which come down the fell.

Most importantly we will ensure that every penny we make is invested back into this magnificent landscape.

Going local

Eat fresh

Eat fresh

We Cumbrians have access to some of the best produce in the country and at Sticklebarn we are taking absolute advantage of it.

Our beef comes straight from Millbeck Farm next door, our Cumberland sausage is from the award winning Plumgarths in Kendal and we get our eggs from Lakeland Free Range Eggs in Windermere. Across the board we are using fantastic local fresh ingredients, which is why our food tastes so good.
