On this page the words 'local' and 'fresh' are used a lot, but here in the Visitor Centre at Hadrian's Wall, we like nothing more than to help local businesses.
You will find Karen Ballantyne's Hadrian's Sandwiches, pasties and sausage rolls as well as beautiful cakes delivered daily from Rothbury Bakery. There is also Doddington's ice cream from down the road and much more.

There are seating areas, inside can seat around 20 people and there are picnic benches outside for you and your companions or family to take a rest and relax while you enjoy your meal.
Why not enjoy our fair trade coffee, hot chocolate, Yorkshire, Earl Grey or flavoured tea with your snack.

The visitor centre also has a wide range of National Trust products for sale.
There are jams, books, bags, water bottles, teatowels, maps and various items of clothing available.
Local, local, local
Local caterer Karen Ballantyne makes Hadrian's Sandwiches fresh every day on the estate, ranging from cheese and onion to tuna and more. We also stock pasties and sausage rolls from local bakers Rothbury.
Sweet tooth
Heatherslaw cakes such as cherry fruit Madeira, caramel shortbread, flap jacks and more, come fresh daily from Rothbury Bakery. We also stock ice cream fresh from local business, Doddington's.
Dietary needs
We realise that everyone has different needs so we provide gluten free options such as chocolate brownies, jam rings, macaroons and bake well slices.
