Choose your own pace

Here at Hardcastle Crags there are 400 acres of woodland which means there's plenty of space and terrain for walking, running, orienteering, geocaching or beautiful spots to simply rest and take in the view.

Whether you're with a friend (they may well be four-legged and furry) or by yourself, you can enjoy a gentle stroll or breath-taking hike, either way there are various paths and terrains available to make your way around Hardcastle Crags.

Orienteering

Planned in partnership with East Pennine Orienteering Club (EPOC) we have a permanent leisure orienteering course, you can try your map-reading skills navigating around our course of 25 markers at your own pace or time yourself against your friends. Maps are available from Midgehole Road Car Park and Gibson Mill for £1.50.

Running
