A warm welcome awaits

We're lucky to have a great crowd of volunteers who fulfil a number of different roles.  We've interviewed one of our long serving garden stewards, here's what he has to say about his time with us.

Relax with a book

Next time you visit, why not take a look at our charity book shop.  If you would like to donate any unwanted books to us, all monies raised will go back into maintaining our garden for future visitors.

Don't miss

  • Family games in the walled garden.
  • Bloomin' marvellous flowers and plants.
  • Walks across rolling Cheshire parkland.
  • The views across our rural parkland to the skyline of Manchester
  • The bird hide

Time to sit back, relax and enjoy

A wrought iron bench provides the perfect spot to sit and relax .

A number of benches are dotted around the grounds and the walled garden is only a short walk from the car park for those who wish to enjoy peace and tranquility without having to walk too far.

We hope to keep the bees buzzing

Our head gardener, who's a qualified bee keeper, aims to encourage bees into the garden by planting bee friendly flowers and plants.

We aim to regularly inspect the colony, so look out for information on our blackboards.

Hare raising fun at Hare Hill

A hare springs to life out of a piece of wood

We've had some beautiful wooden hares carved and as a result have installed a new hare sculpture trail throughout the woodland garden.

Come and take a look for yourself, who knows what else you might find?
