  • There are no picnic tables or BBQ sites but Shortwood (the open grassland) is a good picnic spot with extensive views

Family & children

  • There are a number of seats and benches located throughout the estate whether to take in the views or sit in quiet woodland glade surrounded by the sound of birdsong
  • There are also some large tree trunks laid out along the Cotswold Way to sit, climb or run along
  • Get creative and have a go at buildig a den in the woods


  • The estate is located on the Cotswold escarpment so the terrain is a mix of exposed hilltops and steep slopes
  • Most of the site is undulating
  • There are good woodland tracks with waymarking throughout the woods
  • The open grasslands have free draining soils, so they're good to walk on even in the wettest of weathers
